Opening of the 26th RIGA FASHION WEEK at Riga Motor Museum

March 28 will be a very special date in the fashion world as it will be the start of RIGA FASHION WEEK, this season taking place till April 1.

It will surprise the public and participants with spectacular events, designer fashion shows and thematic presentations. For the first time in 13 years of RIGA FASHION WEEK existence the opening event of the fashion session will take place in Riga Motor Museum whose modern atmosphere will enrich the fashion shows in a very special way.

Following the grand reconstruction, Riga Motor Museum has become not only the largest and the most high-tech museum of old means of transportation in the Baltics with over 100 unique cars and motorcycles but has also acquired fantastic space for exhibitions and a developed area with a modern exposition presented by using modern technological solutions and means of multimedia.

Riga Motor Museum – among retro automobiles – is the place where on March 28 RFW will be opened and where the collection by a vibrant Georgian brand Dalood will be presented. Hand embroidery is very characteristic of this brand, this season combined harmonically with coarse leather and laces. Also KÄT from Estonia, positioning itself as a fashion brand for modern women respecting sustainable and ecologic design will be presented at the opening show. The style, characteristic for KÄT, combines minimalism typical for the Northern countries with retro motives. This evening another Georgian designer Mariam Gvasalia will also show its collection. Thus the main podium of the capital city will present the Georgian fashion for the first time that will dilute the Nordic style typical for the Baltics with bold fusion of colours and texture showing all variety and individuality of this Caucasian nation.

It is worth to mention that with every season RIGA FASHION WEEK gets increasingly oriented towards the international markets, therefore it gets easier not only to position the Latvian fashion outside the country but also to integrate the experience of foreign specialists into the development of local fashion industry.

The official programme of the 26th RIGA FASHION WEEK is available at RFW website www.rfw.lv.
